“When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.” DEUTERONOMY 20:1

ord, help us unravel the mysteries of your Word, let us apply wisdom to our lives, that we may be worthy of you. Your Word is rich treasure; lift the veil of ignorance from our eyes, that we may enjoy every good thing you have reserved for those who love you. And prepare in our heart a nest of divine love, that others who come to us may find a spark of you in us. We thank you for answering our prayers, in Jesus name. Amen.
Our God reminds us in today’s verse that He is our companion during our life battles. Even when facing terrible odds against us, His gentle Spirit reassures us: be not afraid. Our struggles are not a surprise to Him. Our precarious circumstances do not drive Him away. Quite the contrary, later in this chapter, verse four declares that He fights our enemies for us. Whether they be numerous and powerful, our God is able to bring us victory in the blink of an eye.
Never underestimate the love of God, especially when everything around you seems to testify against it. Believe. Believe that God is with you. Bring yourself to know the true measure of His goodness. All it takes is one step. One prayer. Believe.
