“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." GALATIANS 5:1

n Jesus we are free to live within the boundaries of God’s kingdom, boundaries in place to keep His beloved children in the most absolute enjoyment of all good and perfect things. Before we knew Him, we belonged to the masses of lost souls overwhelmed by the works of darkness. Now that His light dwells in our spirit, we are equipped to discern our previous blindness, and He calls us to go forth, share the gospel, be His hands and feet. Freedom is not merely an asset, but a great responsibility. Paul reminds us to “Stand” in it, to protect that precious gift which Jesus died to give us. In this world opportunities abound to surrender ourselves to the ways of the flesh. We are bombarded on a daily basis with ideas designed to trap us in the selfish quest of materialism, of lust and violence. Such pursuits increase the vicious void in which so many human souls remain trapped.
Be firm, therefore, in faith. Establish your trust fully in His power to protect you, deliver you, and guide you. Christ says that apart from Him we are nothing; without His spirit we are as a branch that withers and dies. Let us then, bask in His love as our greatest strength. In Him we live a life worth living, not self-seeking but open to give our all to the cause of salvation. Every man and woman is called to witness, to care for the lost, to pray for the impossible and share His light. Wherever a child of the Most High lives, spiritual transformation develops. Captives are set free. Blind men see, and the lost return home.
