"For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out." 1 TIMOTHY 6:7
We must learn to shift our priorities on a fundamental level. Truly observe the flowers and the birds of the air. Do they struggle? Do they despair? We stand on this platform called life so completely absorbed in its play that we disconnect from our spiritual source. Between natural disasters and economic fluctuations, our attention wanders in a state of perpetual disorientation following daily trends that have no impact upon eternity. It is as if we are riding on a highway of delusion, seeking to satisfy the fleeting demands of our carnality while forsaking the spiritual truths that even irrational creatures understand.
Helpless as little children, we come to you Lord…to dwell under the shadow of your wings. Satisfy our thirst of you by letting us taste the goodness of your presence. We are so confused in this crazy world…where millions go hungry while others refuse to give. Let your light and your word rest upon this heart, that we may walk in the way leading to everlasting life. Teach us by your precious Spirit, let us welcome true wisdom, and walk with her. Have mercy on us, dear God, have mercy on our world. You alone can do all things new. Do no abandon us in our wretchedness, in our ignorance, in our darkness. Let the light of Jesus Christ shine ever brightly in this soul, and in all your creatures. Amen.
