"Whosoever transgreseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son." 2 JOHN 1:9

nstruct us, oh Lord, to live in the love of Christ. Active love: never weary, never self-seeking. Look upon us, mortal and base creatures, with eyes of mercy. Grant that our humanity be a servant of truth and love, not barbarity and ignorance. Remember our struggles and strengthen us this day. Let us be all You created us to be –nothing more, nothing less. Nourish our spirit with infectious joy, and the hope that surpasses all understanding. Bring us to the foot of the cross, that we learn from Your Son how to love one another.
Now that we abide in His presence, let us find in His doctrine the truth in simple form. We do not wish to become like white washed tombs, clean on the outside yet putrid on the inside. We seek first to love as you loved us. We seek to love before we learn anything else. Your Word says that love covers a multitude of sins, and we confess that we have sinned against you. We need love, dear God, to be the light that guides our steps.
Grant, oh Great Father, that more and more we become creatures of love, and never allow us to grow in bitterness or despair. For truth shows us indeed that you are our shield and comforter. And in all things You are with us: in prosperity and in need, in sickness and in health. You are indeed our divine Spouse. Let us rest in your bosom this day. Let us incline our ears to the music of your Spirit. And we thank you. Amen.
