“For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.” TITUS 3:3

hen a master is at work, seldom does he give anything beyond a glimpse of his masterpiece to the world. True holiness is born in the intimate moments of absolute surrender, in the silence of a quiet soul who tunes in to the frequency of God’s Spirit. How can we let Him guide us if we insist in guiding ourselves? The blind leading the blind…only when God in His infinite mercy removes the scales from our eyes see are able to see the wretchedness in our nature. Always prompt and bent towards evil, self-centered, living in bondage to affections contrary to the good and perfect will of God for the human soul. Oh, what freedom we find in Jesus! Freedom to discern, freedom to love, freedom to unwrap the gift of life!
Lord, you know the struggles of our flesh. You know we are helpless without your Spirit. Unless you make this tent your habitation, we are lost in the raging seas of sin. Work in us, dear God. Transform us from the inside out. Show us thy light every moment, that we may follow you, rather than darkness. And like St. Francis prayed, we also pray: “Most High, Glorious God, enlighten the darkness of my mind, give me right faith, a firm hope, and perfect charity, so that I may always and in all things act according to your Holy will.” Amen.
