“And the Lord gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hand.” JOSHUA 21:44
There is a sweet place of victory for those who fulfill the plan of God. Divine rest abounds there, a place where even the memory of our oppressors fades away and the soul enjoys the manifestation of God’s promises. Obedience is the path. The Lord is faithful generation after generation, giving the children what He promised to their fathers. Precious, oh how precious is our faith, never wasted. Today He is reminding us to plant those seeds that are in our hands, to take up our sword and face the battle, to endure the cross knowing it will be worth it.
Cling to the goodness of God. In the wilderness of our spiritual life, while we fight demons and lack, the Word says: cling! The promise will come to pass. He will restore my soul. What can men do unto me? Sometimes all we have is a word from God, and surprisingly, that is all we need. There is nothing more powerful in this decaying world that the voice of Him who loves us in spite of all of our transgressions.
Can you imagine how the Israelites must have felt when they looked around and saw none of their adversaries standing around them? Can you taste this atmosphere of divine rest? Pause now, for a moment. See yourself dwelling in this land. Look around and witness all your spiritual, physical, or financial enemies defeated. Cling to Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen you, to guide your steps. The Lord is waiting, with open arms, for every one of His beloved children to possess the Promised Land. Delay not the blessing. Cling to Jesus!
