Seeking God in LAMENTATIONS

“Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches, pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children that faint for hunger in the top of every street.” LAMENTATIONS 2:19

W

ho can deliver us from the consequences of our sins? Who can turn away the hand of God when it falls in retribution over our lives? Are we not to bear our cross? If you spend a lifetime running away from the Lord, is it a surprise that the fruits of your actions taste bitter later? A dark place indeed, but lighter than the place where you knew Him not. Praised be the mercy of our Lord, for only the blood of Jesus can deliver us from the day of sorrow. Humble yourself; tear down everything within you that usurps a place higher than Him. Harbor neither idols nor unruliness, lest they hinder your walk in the light. Let your heart melt its afflictions before Him until you are pure again, in His sight.

Let not this present trial drag you away from Him. Let no distress deny the testimony of His goodness. Learn His ways. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. If He sees fit to bring afflictions over you, bear them. Stand your ground with your face bowed to the earth and your hands lifted up in praise. Know that He loves you. His ways are higher than ours, and so are His thoughts. Every test we endure brings a reward that no amount of gold can buy. He is near. He is listening. He counts every one of your tears, every sigh. He does not let you stranded, but caters to your spiritual and physical along the way. As you are transformed into a jewel in the eyes of the Almighty, a bright star in the firmament of His saints, fear not. Hold onto His love while you are in the dark place.
